Job Title: Senior Engineer/Staff Engineer, PC Platform

General Summary
This position is responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of Sling Media PC Software projects. This includes Slingbox client software, utilities, development tools and future Microsoft Windows based company products.
Essential Responsibilities
- Directly participate in design and development of multimedia/networking software products for Microsoft Windows platforms.
- Lead team of professionals working on complex software projects.
- Design, implementation and documentation of various project components.
- Integration of various product components and maintenance of product release process.
- Regular status updates and communication with management.
- Collecting input and acting on communications with product definitions team, management chief architect and QA group.
- Team code review and maintenance.
- Ensure that project source code follows company guidelines.
- Team members training and mentoring.
- Prepare and maintain project technical documentation following company guidelines.
Job Specifications/Requirements
- BS & MS in Computer Science.
- Excellent knowledge of MFC, C++, ATL, COM, Multi-threading programming on Microsoft Windows platform.
- 7+ years experience in team software development using above mentioned technologies.
- Must have a demonstrated track record of successfully leading mid-to-large scale Microsoft Windows software projects.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows platform, Intel x86 processor architecture and system architecture.
- Strong multimedia background with the focus on streaming video and audio or networking.
- Excellent problem analysis and debugging skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills.
- Knowledge of WPF / XAML is a plus.
- Experience of development of network connected / disconnected (aka Smart Client) applications is plus.
- Excellent people skills.
- Ability to effectively present information to team members and management.
- Must possess the ability to analyze requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
- Excellent project leading, communication, mentoring and teamwork skills.
- Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Must demonstrate hands on approach.
