GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q: How long will my Slingbox continue to work?
A: Slingbox servers will be permanently taken offline November 9, 2022, at which point ALL Slingbox
devices and services will become inoperable.
Until then, most Slingbox models will continue to work normally, but the number of supported devices
for viewing will steadily decrease as versions of the SlingPlayer apps become outdated and/or lose
compatibility.

Q: Why is Slingbox being discontinued?
A: Due to technology advances within the TV industry and the ubiquitous nature of streaming devices
and services over the past several years, the demand for Slingbox has decreased. As a result, we are
focusing our efforts on continuing to develop and enhance innovative products for DISH TV and SLING
TV to meet the evolving needs for place-shifted viewing.
Q: Will Slingbox be releasing any new products?
A: No.
Q. Does the Slingbox announcement affect my DISH TV or Sling TV applications or
equipment?
A. No. The Slingbox product discontinuation effective Nov. 9, 2022 does not affect any DISH TV and
SLING TV applications or equipment.
SOFTWARE & APPS
Q: Will SlingPlayer apps be updated?
A: Some versions of the SlingPlayer app may receive maintenance updates, but there will be no new
development work. Outdated or legacy versions of the SlingPlayer apps may be removed from the app stores
without notice.
Q: Which SlingPlayer apps are currently available?
A: As of NOVEMBER 9, 2020, the following apps are available:
Q: Which SlingPlayer apps have already been discontinued?
A: As of NOVEMBER 9, 2020, the following apps are no longer supported and/or no longer available for
download:
- SlingPlayer (Free) for Android tablets
- SlingPlayer (Paid) for Android smartphones
- SlingPlayer for Roku
- SlingPlayer for Windows Phone
If you already have one of these apps installed, the app may continue to work on that device, but
you won’t
be able to reinstall or it may stop functioning at some point.
Q. I paid for a Slingbox app, but I can’t download/install it any more.
A. Some paid versions of the SlingPlayer apps are no longer available in the app stores. If you
already have
a paid app installed, it may continue to function for a limited time. However, no refunds will be
issued for
any paid app purchases.
WARRANTY
Q: Is my warranty still valid?
A: The Slingbox warranty is for 1 year. If you purchased your Slingbox from an authorized dealer in
the
United States or Canada and have a copy of the receipt, your warranty will be covered under the
original
terms and conditions.
Q: My device is broken but I’m outside my warranty period. Can I send in my device
for
paid repair service?
A: Slingbox does not offer repair services.
HARDWARE & ACCESSORIES
Q: Can I still buy Slingbox products and accessories?
A: Slingbox is not shipping any new product, and most authorized resellers have been out of stock
for a couple years. Power adapters may be available by calling customer service.
