WI-FI ERRORS [Jump to top]

WHAT'S HAPPENING

ACTION(S)

W-100 Slingplayer can't connect to your Slingbox.
  • Check that Wi-Fi is enabled on your computer or smartphone.
  • Be sure your Slingbox is powered up.
  • Wait two minutes after power-up before trying again.
W-101 Your Slingbox isn't responding to Slingplayer properly.
  • Be sure your Slingbox is powered up.
  • On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release. Wait two minutes, then reconfigure your Slingbox.
  • Make sure that the audio/video drivers on your computer are current (Windows 8.1).
  • Check that you don't have firewall or antivirus software that's blocking Slingplayer.
W-102 Your computer or smartphone isn't reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network.
  1. Be sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your computer or smartphone, and that you have entered the correct password for your computer or smartphone to connect to your network.
  2. Make sure that your Wi-Fi router is up and running.
  3. Try configuring your Slingbox again.
  4. If it still doesn't work, use a paperclip to briefly press the Reset button (back of the Slingbox) and immediately release.
W-103 Your computer or smartphone doesn't appear to have functioning Wi-Fi.
Enable the Wi-Fi feature on your computer or smartphone.
W-104 Your computer or smartphone isn't reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network.
It's possible that you entered the wrong Wi-Fi router password.
  1. Manually reconnect your computer or smartphone back to your home network.
  2. Start the Slingbox configuration process over again.
  3. If that doesn't work properly, use a paperclip to press the Reset button briefly, then release.
W-105 The player can't connect to your Slingbox.
  1. Check that Wi-Fi is enabled on your computer or smartphone.
  2. Be sure your Slingbox is powered up, and wait two minutes after power-up before trying again.
  3. Press and hold WPS button (back of Slingbox) for 10 seconds until the Network LED blinks twice.
  4. Wait for 1 minute, then relaunch Slingplayer.
W-106 Unable to detect a Wi-Fi network.
We are unable to detect a Wi-Fi network. Please ensure your computer has Wi-Fi enabled. Or else click Back, select Connect using Ethernet, and connect a network cable between your Slingbox and your network router before proceeding with the setup process.
W-201 Refer to error C-201. Refer to error C-201.
W-411 Refer to error A-411. Refer to error A-411.
Default error There was an error in setting up your network.
  • Be sure that Wi-Fi is running on your computer or smartphone.
  • Be sure that your Wi-Fi router is up and running properly.
  • On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.

SLINGPLAYER SETUP ERRORS [Jump to top]

A-19 Another computer, smartphone, or program is already setting up your Slingbox.
  1. Locate and cancel the other installation.
  2. Using a paperclip, press the Reset button on the back of the Slingbox briefly and release (do not hold it in).
  3. Wait one (1) minute, then retry the setup process again.
A-24 The firmware upgrade is in progress.
Wait until the firmware upgrade process is completed.
A-400 There has been a setup error.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again.
A-404 There has been a setup error.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again.
A-405 There has been a setup error.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again.
  4. If you still receive the same error, make sure you are not on a VPN, and try the configuration process again.
A-406 The configuration process has been interrupted for some reason.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again.
A-407 The configuration process has been interrupted for some reason.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again.
A-408 There's been a problem with the configuration process.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again.
A-409 There's some kind of Wi-Fi problem. Make sure that your Slingbox is powered up, then try the Slingbox configuration again.
A-410 There's a problem with the Slingbox internal software.
  1. Connect your Slingbox to your network using a network cable, then power it up.
  2. Allow 20 minutes for your Slingbox to update.
If allowing the Slingbox 20 minutes to update doesn't help, contact Slingbox Support for more assistance.
A-411 Slingplayer is not able to find your Slingbox.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again
A-412 Another computer or smartphone is already configuring your Slingbox.
  1. Find the other computer or smartphone that is configuring your Slingbox. Stop the configuration process.
  2. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  3. Wait two (2) minutes.
  4. Try the configuration process again.
A-430 There has been an error communicating with your Slingbox.

SLINGBOX SETUP ERRORS [Jump to top]

ACTION(S)

S-300 One of your setup entries (for example, country, zip/postal code, etc.) is invalid. Re-enter, starting with Slingbox name.
  1. Using a paper clip, briefly press the Reset button (on the back of your Slingbox) then immediately release it. (Don't hold the Reset button in.)
  2. Go back to the Slingplayer reconfiguration process and re-enter the data requested.
S-301 The manufacturer/model list isn't displaying properly. Be sure that you have entered the correct manufacturer and model for your A/V device (usually that's your set-top box).
  1. Using a paper clip, briefly press the Reset button (on the back of your Slingbox) then immediately release it. (Don't hold the Reset button in.)
  2. Go back to the Slingplayer reconfiguration process and re-enter the data requested.
S-302 There's a problem with Slingplayer communicating with your Slingbox. Quit Slingplayer, then restart it. Try the configuration process again.
S-303 A problem occurred while trying to configure the video source.
Quit Slingplayer, then restart it. Try the configuration process again.
S-304 A problem occurred while trying to configure your remote.
Quit Slingplayer, then restart it. Try the configuration process again.
S-305 A problem occurred while trying to configure your remote.
Quit Slingplayer, then restart it. Try the configuration process again.
S-306 There's a problem with the Slingbox configuration process.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.

S-307 The Slingbox didn't communicate properly with a Sling Media server.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.

S-311 The Slingbox didn't communicate properly with a Sling Media server.

S-317 There is a problem with your computer's audio driver, the video card driver, or both.
  1. If there is no audio driver software on the computer, install audio the appropriate driver software.
  2. If the audio driver software is present, update it as needed to make it current.
  3. If that doesn't help, or if it doesn't fully resolve the problem, then update the graphics card driver.

G-502 There's a problem with Slingplayer connecting to your Slingbox.
Quit Slingplayer, and then relaunch it. Try again.
P-1 There's been a problem communicating with the Slingbox.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again.
P-2 There's been an error with the configuration process.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to briefly press and release the Reset button, then immediate release it.
  2. Try the configuration process again.
  3. If that doesn't work, then, on the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  4. Wait two (2) minutes.

P-3 Someone else is currently using the Slingbox Find the other user and ask them to disconnect; or disconnect them via onscreen prompt if given that option.

  3. Try reconfiguring the Slingbox. If you are unable to do that...

P-10 There is a problem with your network.
On your computer, check your firewall and/or antivirus settings to make sure that they aren't blocking the Slingbox.
P-11 There isn't enough hard disk space on your computer to run the Slingplayer replay buffer feature (available on some versions of Slingplayer).
  • Free up hard disk space on your computer.
  • De-activate the buffer feature.
P-12 The Slingbox is currently being updated with new firmware.
  1. Wait for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Re-try Slingplayer.
P-13 There is an error with the configuration of your Slingbox.
  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Re-configure your Slingbox.
P-14 Someone with the same Slingbox access privileges as you "bumped" you off your Slingbox connection.
The owner of the Slingbox has disconnected your stream. Wait for the owner to disconnect, then connect again.

  1. On the back of your Slingbox, use a paperclip to press and hold Reset for 10 seconds, then release.
  2. Wait two (2) minutes.
  3. Try the configuration process again.
